I am Surrounded

So today marks the 43rd day that Unsettled has been on the market. I can’t thank you all enough for helping Unsettled get noticed.

Due to popular requests, I have started working on book two of the Unsettled series, Surrounded. I am pushing to have Surrounded out sometime before the summer of 2014, but a release date has not been chosen yet.

Don’t worry fan girls, I am working hard on this one for you!

In other news…

Last weekend I took my 3-year old to Disneyland aka Hell. It was so jammed packed, but all my irritation was washed away the moment my little boy got to meet one of his favorite characters. It made the treacherous 1.5 hr wait to park the car (no exaggeration here) all worth the wait.

Hope you all have a lovely rest of your week!

Let’s chat soon!

Dec 24

Hi everyone!

First of all I want to say thank you to all those who have purchased or plan to purchase, Unsettled! I am very excited to report that Unsettled debuted in the top 100 on Amazon! I was in complete and utter shock. I didn’t even know this happened until another author friend of mine kindly informed me! I feel very blessed an honored that there has been such an outpouring of support for Unsettled and for me, as an indie author for that matter!

Now onto more exciting news!

For those of you eagerly anticipating the release of Surrounded, book two of the Unsettled series, you’ll be happy to know that I’m currently working on it, as I type this message.

I can’t give an exact time frame of when Surrounded will be released, but I am shooting for the spring of 2014.

I also want to let you know that I love hearing from my readers, so feel free to drop me a line or two and let me know what you thought of the story. At this moment, I plan on rounding out Brooklyn and Logan’s story before moving onto other endeavors. I would love to hear from you, the readers, about where you’d like to see their roller coaster love affair take them.

Well, it’s getting late here, and I have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to go to my DAY JOB (grr), so I’ll chat with you lovelies later!

Psst…I’ve been working on my first ever book trailer for Unsettled! Boy oh boy, much more involved than I thought it would be! Eek!

Author Interview-December 7, 2013

I had the opportunity to be a featured author on Feed My Reads! Check out my interview below:

Today our featured CA author is SC Ellington ! SC’s debut New Adult novel, Unsettled, releases December 10th.

We are so happy to grab a quick interview with SC!! So check out our interview plus a teaser of Unsettled!

Describe your book in a tweet (140 characters or less)

  • A heartbroken Brooklyn meets a young CEO, Logan Colton. The two embark on an unknown journey with twists and turns. Brooklyn questions whether she can endure the journey ahead.

What was your inspiration for your book?

  • I decided to write Unsettled as a way to express some of my internal thoughts. In life we all go through trying experiences and sometimes they are hard to move past. In Brooklyn and Logan’s case, they are both plagued by secrets. In life every person has to be willing to take chances, and make changes. If you can’t do that, then what do you have? You’re just left Unsettled.

Did you always want to be an author?

  • Yes and no. I always enjoyed using my creative propensity. I found pleasure in writing short poems and things of that nature. For a while I considered medical school, then law school, but for me, those professions were more of a means to earn a substantial living. My father always told me to choose a profession that I didn’t feel like would be “work.” I ended up doing the opposite and pursued my Masters degree in Public Policy and Administration. From that point I acquired a position within the government. Over the course of the last few years, I found myself yearning for me. I would say that the day my husband brought me the Kindle was the day that my life and outlook changed. I started thinking back on my father’s words and what I found joy in. I’ve always been an avid reader, and many close friends always told me that they thought I wrote well. About a year ago, a tiny light bulb went off, propelling me to pursue my creative passion for writing. Had it not been for the ever evolving world of self-publishing, I am not sure that I would have ever seriously pursued my dreams of becoming a published author.

Besides writing, what other interests/hobbies do you have?

  • Aside from writing, I enjoy curling up with my e-reader and absorbing myself in novels loaded with emotion, desire, and passion. I also like to spend sunny, wistful afternoons, in my hammock thinking up new ideas for great stories. I love to cook and create new recipes. I also enjoys spending time with my loving family and friends and traveling.

Lightning round questions (some fun facts for your readers to get to know you):

Favorite word- Ridic

Favorite food-Curry chicken

Last book you read- Crazy Maybe by A.D. Justice

These are real characters, and I not only could relate to them, I found myself rooting for them during certain parts of the book…S.C. Ellington writes with such confidence and finesse that it’s quite a surprise this is her first novel. I look forward to the next book in the series.
